Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. O'Dell later became an anchor for morning news at WCBD TV and also as an investigative reporter. Her reporting of the ineffective response of the police to DUI cases in Charleston led to an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years award in the entirety of South Carolina Media. Her work in Charleston led her to serve as co-anchor and investigative reporter as well as NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a anchor on the weekdays and was also the NBC weekend co-anchor.
